UJOB OBJECTIVEU:

 

The Database Administrator will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of a data strategy including the analysis of existing data repositories, building of data reporting environments (Datamart / Datawarehouse), recommendation and implementation of software and tools to streamline the usage of data reporting environments, and development of data standards to ensure accuracy of reports. The Database Administrator will also serve as a subject matter expert to the company relating to databases and reporting. This will include working closely with business units to determine current data and reporting needs as well as identifying and assisting with future data and reporting requirements. The Database Administrator would also be responsible for the day to day administration of all database systems. The position reports to the Technology Officer.

 

 

UESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ability to work directly with end users to determine data reporting needs

 

  1. Creation of SQL reports providing enhanced visibility to business units

 

  1. Develop reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

 

  1. Design, Develop, and Deploy SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages

 

  1. Configure, manage, and administer databases with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             
  2. Understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) best practices/methodologies, relational database management concepts, dimensional data modeling, data warehouse concepts and reporting techniques

 

  1. Create, develop and document DataMart(s) and DataWarehouse(s)

 

  1. Proven analytical skills and an ability to use data and metrics to support assumptions and complete analysis

 

  1. Comfortable learning new data analysis techniques independently and continuously

 

  1. Analyze severity of issues for appropriate escalation and resolution

 

  1. Manage projects/tasks to meet expected deadlines and deliverables

 

  1. Provide consistent and timely feedback to management and impacted users of projects/tasks progress

 

  1. Provide day to day administrative support for all database systems including performance tuning, backups, and disaster recovery

 

  1. Off hours availability required for on call and planned maintenance procedures

USPECIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 3 years' experience.

 

  1. Microsoft SSAS and Power BI experience

 

  1. Microsoft or job-related technical certifications are a plus

 

  1. Solid SQL skills and demonstrated proficiency with report building

 

  1. Previous experience with Sage accounting products, Prophix, and Osprey Retail Point of Sale packages are a plus

 

  1. Demonstrated experience with relational database data warehouse design

 

  1. Demonstrated experience performing daily administration of MS SQL systems

 

  1. Proficient with Microsoft SSIS, SSRS, and SSMS

 

  1. Ability to explain technical concepts and processes clearly to non-technical staff

 

  1. Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and/or projects simultaneously

 

  1. Ability to inspire confidence and respect among clients

 

  1. Ability to work effectively as part of a team or committee, as well as independently

 

  1. Ability to organize and prioritize work

 

  1. Excellent spoken and written communication skills

 

  1. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

  1. Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products
